ASCEND W1 system update

Mine has just updated to:
- firmware version: 1030.5614.16900.20900
- OS: 8.0.10327.77

Oddly though, no sign of Internet (Connection) Sharing though...

I did read, somewhere, that after the update you have to do a factory reset to get Internet Connection sharing to work.....

I backed up my phone then did a settings | about | reset

Phone then booted up, but could not access the internet with vodafone sim (due to not knowing the APN), so I had to put in an o2 sim. Then I restored my last backup and all my data came back, along with Internet Sharing so it seems to work.

Once I started it up with my Vodafone sim in it it mentioned different tarrifs - Vodafone Postpay and Vodafone Prepay, so it might know the new Vodafone APNs now - haven't check that bit yet.

The only downside was having to stick ?10 of credit onto a PAYG o2 sim :-(

Can anyone confirm that the O2 Ascend W1 (in the UK) will receive (or has received) GDR2?
If so, does it enable the FM radio, and does it still work if it is unlocked?

Yes im on O2 and i received GDR2 and unfortunately there is no FM Radio.

Yes 02 have released it, to get it all working and internet sharing you have to hard reset it. No FM radio support
