So I've just signed up, and to be brutally honest one of the reasons for doing this is the Surface Pro competition. That being said, I do enjoy forums, so I guess if I get a long with the community, I'll be more active.
My relation with Microsoft is quite passionate. I love collecting Microsoft figures. I own the Microsoft Sam figure and a bunch of others. Same goes with Microsoft Studios, have a lot of merchandise from them as well.
I was a Windows Phone user, but unfortunately my Lumia 930 broke a while ago. Currently using my iPhone 4S (which is covered in cracks, and part of the screen is missing). I've been using it for a couple of months now, waiting till I'm confident with what my next phone is going to be. And yes I'm considering the 950XL (despite the warning signs suggesting that Windows Phone will be scrapped or on hiatus). My justification is I'm a huge fan of the OS, and content with not having the latest of everything (it took me a 4-5 months to update my iPhone to the latest OS).
As for software, I actually really like the updates for Microsoft Office (in particular the Powerpoint Creators Upadate). As I'm a Uni student studying Sociology and a minor in Creative Writing, I have a lot of use for Powerpoints when assignments consist of a speech. To be honest in some of the recent Microsoft Press Conferences, the new Office features really excite me.
And then we have Xbox. I own a 360 and a Xbox One. I'm definitely going to get Scorpio. I play a ridiculous amount of games. Some of my favorites being.
- Beyond Good and Evil HD
- Super Smash Bros 4
- Killer Instinct
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution
- Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
- Deus Ex: GO
- Fable: The Lost Chapters
- Fable II
- Shadows of the Damned
- Fez
- Halo: Combat Evolved
- Halo: Reach
- The Legend of Zelda: Windwaker
- The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
- Grand Theft Auto: IV
- Ilomilo+
- Hotline Miami
- Age of Empires II
- Age of Mythology
- Assassin's Creed II
- The Darkness
- The World Ends with You: Solo Remix
The list keeps going, didn't realise it was that big. Ah well, gives something for us to discuss.
Groove is another thing I use a lot. I could list my favorite artists, but to be honest it'd be bigger than the game list. Basically I like a lot of Metal (from Black Sabbath to Death/Black Metal) and Punk (from Hardcore band like Black Flag to Powerviolence). I guess the two biggest bans to inspire me are Amebix and Inquisition. Overall I can't live without Groove nowadays. I use it religiously, and I would be spending at least a $100 a week if it wasn't for the subscription service. I have kind of gravitated towards Hip-Hop more recently. Mostly Hipster and Experimental stuff. I've been meaning to get into Jazz and Blues. So any recommendations would be appreciated.
And then there is Windows 10, absolutely love it, and try to help the Windows Store as much as possible. Have a huge collection of apps and Films/TV shows.
Outside of Microsoft, I guess I socialise and ride my bike (on the quest to lose some weight). I have an on-and-off relationship with my electric drum kit (honestly acoustic motivates you to practice more). Apart from that there is study and work.
I plan on doing an Xbox Podcast soon with a mate, may as well post it up on here when it is done.
Anyway, cheers if you've got this far in the message. Look forward to talking to you guys.
