Yeah, i just got my lg quantum a few weeks ago.

it's my first smartphone. i had an old feature phone that died after 5 years.

the one thing i wanted was a physical keyboard.

then i left verizon for t-mobile. with their new rates, it was a much better deal.

I HATE TOUCHSCREENS. but i can live with doing a few simple things with it,
    if i'm forced too.

this is great, except the battery life is terrible. i'm used to charging my old phone
    once a week.

well, i realize this does a lot more.... i'm also replacing a zune HD, which died.
and this is perfect for using in my car too.

there is almost no learning curve.

the most frustrating things are t-mobile has little support for older phones.
they had no clue about the SMS issues, and not getting media. i tried everything
i could find searching the web, but found the solution on this board.

i still haven't figured out bluetooth, or how to tether the connection.

also, the zune app on pc doesn't recognize the phone anymore under
windows 7 or xp. not sure if it's a setting.

well, there's a lot more to figure out.

still, i'm very happy with the phone, especially the browser, outlook,
    and the office apps.

i mostly use my phone for messaging, and the occasional call.
everything else is extra. i have an xbox live account. but this
phone is terrible for games, especially the touch controls,
so i won't be playing much on it.

i found the solution to the SMS problem.

you just have to download the LG network app, and run it, and then it
    works fine.

however, i still can't send a text message to multiple people.
    that still doesn't work.

also, the problem with my pc not recognizing the phone,
was the sharing mode was changed, in the developer settings APP.

once i changed it back to default it worked.

however, i still can't get the phone to tether though..

    Welcome to wpcentral.
    thanks again,

i've been lurking on this board for the last year.

i knew i always wanted a windows phone, however,
i'm in a strange position. i don't want the latest phones,
because none of them have keyboard support.

i'm going to stick with windows 7.5 for awhile.
maybe the situation will change in the future.

    we'll see.
