Got a Lancet? Been using it for a bit? How about a review to help other users out?

It can be quick or it can be in depth. The more opinions and facts we have the better and other users will truly appreciate your input.

And remember the community guidelines: we want your voice, but let's share in a respectful way...

(Be Polite, Understanding, Patient, Professional, Attentive and Helpful)

    • Be polite. We ask that you keep your language clean and polite.
    • Be understanding and patient. You may be a power user or developer, but the person youre talking to on the other end may be a complete newbie. Be patient, and provide all details possible if youre posting about a problem (descriptive thread title always helps).
    • Be a pro. Dont get into arguments over dumb things. If someone responds in a poor or rude fashion, ignore it. If you notice a pattern of rude or poor behavior from a particular member, report them to our moderators. If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything at all. In a nutshell, think before you post.
    • Be attentive and helpful. Answer questions in a timely manner when you can, and provide thoughts and suggestions that might lead to the solution of a members problem.

LOL. I got all excited there was a review...

I think there are a few users still giving it the shakedown. Not many like writing lengthy reviews. I'm sure we'll get one.

Also, open question for Lancet users: What, exactly, are the GSM frequencies this phone gets? I can't find that spec anywhere on the internet

I have had the Lancet for about a week now. For the most part I like it and probably will stick with it, mostly for the low cost, even after the 735 comes out. That said, I have so far found two negatives worth mentioning.

First, the colors are muted to the point of being washed-out at times. This really became obvious when comparing the theme colors screen to the Samsung ATIV I was using, and also to my wife's Lumia. The theme colors on those other two phones are significantly more vibrant. As an aside, I found it interesting that the Samsung and the Lumia theme colors include Verizon Red but the Lancet does not.

Second, and more importantly, I ran the Network Speed Test about a dozen times on all three phones. The Lancet download times came in last every single instance by a significant margin. I know you get what you pay for but so far this would be the only reason I might change my mind and return the phone.

Shortly after posting the above comments, I discovered that the Lancet does not have a Speech-to-Text function for text messages. This is a deal-breaker for me.

Um it does, if you're in the car on Bluetooth Cortana will read and ask if you want to reply. Or if you are looking at the text message screen there's a mic button that will let you talk and it will transcribe it. You can also start the process by holding the search button and ask Cortana to send a text message.

That aside, I just moved from ATT and had a 900, 920, then moved to a 635. Got to say didn't think the 64 bit version of the snapdragon would make a difference but it's really quite snappy. Over all the phone feels solid like my old 920 and apps load and more importantly able to move between them quickly (not something that is done on the 635 because it kept closing background apps).

My only reservation is the Camera, my 920 spoiled me, but it's decent for what it is, though I think the 635 was better. The "selfie" camera is horrible, but I don't really use that other than for skype every now and then.

Over all, not a bad phone, but by no means a flag ship, I bought it out right and am saving my 2 year upgrade discount for whenever they roll out a "flagship" phone.

I have that option through Cortana or within the actual Text message.
