Your Microsoft 365 subscription cost is going up for the first time in 12 years — but don't worry, it now includes a "monthly allotment" of Copilot

Nor me, even with all the years I was using Windows on my main computer. But I am sure businesses find a good reason to. The majority of home users would have little use even for Office to be honest, with so many free suites around that unless they really need 100% office compatibility will do...

Microsoft stacks Copilot+ PCs powered by Intel and AMD chips against (last year's) MacBooks in updated benchmarks

Yes, ii as if MS don't have the same clout they used to have or maybe the vendors don't think enough people will use their products on Windows arm. I expect Apple had the same problem when they changed, the difference is that Apple changed over and more or less did away with the x86 line.

Microsoft stacks Copilot+ PCs powered by Intel and AMD chips against (last year's) MacBooks in updated benchmarks

You hit the nail on the head, if these Windows arm machines are supposed to be business machines then they certainly need good support for hardware, certainly in the printer/scanner side. There are still a lot of scanners out there, and some pretty expensive ones. I bought an Epson ET-8550...

Microsoft stacks Copilot+ PCs powered by Intel and AMD chips against (last year's) MacBooks in updated benchmarks

I changed to Mac last year, after years of using Windows, macOS, while it does have its faults, they are nowhere near what windows have. Ai is not pushed onto me like it is with Windows, it has one toggle, off or on. Windows is clunky and I never really seen it as such before, but after...

Office and Microsoft 365 will soon cost more, and it's all Copilot AI's fault

A Microsoft 365 Classic option will be available, according to ZDNet, and it will cost a similar price to what you pay right now for Microsoft 365. Similar price? so the price will still increase, if all the features is needed , then it is a good deal, but with free office suites out there that...

Microsoft says OpenAI's ChatGPT isn't "better" than Copilot; you just aren't using it right, but Copilot Academy is here to help

Not being deeply integrated into Windows is a good thing, it means it is easy to disable. Apple seems to have added one switch to disable Apple intelligence, we will see how well that works, not that i use Siri on my Mac.

The Windows 10 Start menu will soon remind you to subscribe to Microsoft 365 via backported Windows 11 upsells

So glad i now only use Windows for some games and I use a third party start menu.

Apple says 'there's no price Microsoft could pay' to make it ditch Google: "They offered to give us Bing for free

i don;lt use either directly, I use Duck Duck go on my phone, Mac and PC and Alexa i think use Bing, but I don't ask it stuff that often as it is not very good, I blame Bing.

Microsoft Clipchamp will soon improve images and audio with AI

Takes all the fun and skill out of things if we allow machines to do everything. Clipchamp is to be honest a load of poop and that is being nice. Want to use AI with video editing, then Capcut is better.,

Your Microsoft 365 subscription now comes with a free VPN on PC and phone

That is not bad at all, as you get could storage and office in the U.K for a single user for £60 a year, adding VPN onto that makes it better, as long as you don't go over the 50GB. I use Nord VPN, which last time cost me £96 for the year. not going to renew it at that price. You would have...

Surface Pro 11 review: A stunning achievement by Microsoft and Qualcomm, making it one of the best Windows PCs of 2024

Er? Surface is just a name for a machine. The hardware seems good for what it is, and at least is easy to replace the storage. The co-pilot machine is nothing special, Just an ARM based machine that Apple have been doing for a few years now. I am a long term Windows user and changed to a Mac...

A PR disaster: Microsoft has lost trust with its users, and Windows Recall is the straw that broke the camel's back

I stopped trusting Microsoft years ago, forcing people to Windows 10 the way they did certainly did not help and to be honest they have got worse as the years have gone by. Then forcing people to have a MS account did not help and yes I suppose Recall don't help. Apple may not be perfect, but...

Listen to Apple's mocking response to Microsoft's spectacular Windows Recall AI failure

I don't really care about AI, keep it off my computer I say, I don't want it baked into a OS, be it Apple OS, windows or Android, which are the three main Operating systems I use., I have no requirement for it on my computer, if I do use AI for any reason it will be online in a browser.

Is this Windows 11 feature a handy tool or a way to shame those who don't pay for Microsoft services?

It would not shame me, I pay for what I use, not for something I don't. If the Goons and the BBc don't worry me for not paying for a TV licence even with all their letters they send me, then Microsoft is certainly not going to worry or shame me. I presume this will only p[op up with a MS...
