How to transfer videos/music WITHOUT using Zune?

I have Ubuntu 11.10 and it can not see the Lumia 800 other than just charging via USB. Skydrive seems like the only solution without Zune. The only thing I miss about Android or BB: no proprietory app needed to read the phone. However, the pluses of WP7 out weigh the single minus over-all

    Any Telus users?

I didn't realize you werent in a contract, lucky you! ;) On another note, I'll be happy when my Telus contract is up. By that time Shaw will have something in place on the phone that will be much more preferred.

    Any Telus users?

I'm on Telus (have been for many years) and have a NL 800. In terms of Telus Mobility, their tech support it is out-sourced to the Philippines, maybe India as well, not sure. After 4pm local time I believe. I have dealt with Telus' support on only a few occasions and when I have it's been a...

Low storage space? Do certain apps take more than shown?

The Lumia 800 has 16GB onboard, you have about 1.8GB used, consider the OS and native apps onboard plus, the files system uses a certain amount of space as well.

What are your top 10 apps?

Carbon (amazing Twitter client) Connectivity Shortcuts Creative Studio Fuse (brilliant RSS reader) NetTools SkyDrive geoDefence ...so far that's it, I'm still searching the market to see if anything appeals to me. For the rest I use native apps. -

    Good to Great battery life

I followed the instructions to manually update to 12070 yesterday and everything went smoothly. I've only had the Lumia 800 for about 4 days which so far equals 3 full discharges. Yesterday, before I updated I made a mental note of the usage; full charge before sleep I unplugged it and after...

Windows Phone drowning in a sea of Androids

I left the Android side just 3 days ago and all my purchased apps with it. So far, I'm happy with the desicion. I want a simple, unified interface and stable OS/apps. WP gives me that. Android 4.03 (ICS), as improved as it is, is still clunky compared to WP. As mentioned by another member...

    Can we make People smaller?

OK, thanks everyone :) It's not a big deal as I mentioned in my OP. However, maybe the dev team could reduce the height by about half and place a small arrow or notification icon to scroll left or right for more? This would give more screen space for the actual application.

    Can we make People smaller?

My error, I should have been more descriptive. I ment when you click on the People tile it opens and you then see 'People" in a huge font across the top. Is there a way of reducing that in size or making it disappear?

    Can we make People smaller?

First all all, I'm thoroughly impressed with WP 7.5. I thought I'd never leave Android and Apple was never an option for me, Blackberry needs serious work. After watching reviews on WP and trying out a demo phone at a store I decided to switch. It's a cosmetic question more than anything: can...
