    Is 512 ram an issue?

Most of the limitations of having 512mb of RAM comes down to being unable to download apps that require 1GB of RAM, however most of these are intensive games. Judging from your requirements (photos and battery life), the 720 seems like a much better choice for your needs.

This is either the most elaborate April Fools joke ever, or awesome news for WP fans... I really hope it's the latter :-D

The 620 is the new flagship

An interesting read. A lot of people seem to forget that the Nokia Lumia 610 and 710 made up 40% of Windows Phones prior to WP8. In order for WP to be a success it needs to target the entry level smartphone market. I've seen a lot of people bag Huawei for being a cheap and crappy smartphone...

    First smartphone: 620 vs 800 (vs 610)

The Lumia 620 is easily better than both of the other handsets you mentioned in both real life performance and benchmarks. And although both of the other phones are getting 7.8, there appears to be serious problems with the live tiles, making WP8 a much more stable choice.

    620 locking up

I've read that there's an update for the L620 coming that will offer performance and battery improvements so maybe that will fix it...

Although I'm not a hundred percent certain I believe that Windows Phone 8 does not have the required APIs to make the Pebble useable with a Windows Phone.

Does windows phone 8 allow you to install apps on micro sd?

Unfortunately not. They only allow installation of apps to internal storage but you can store any and all multimedia on it, including music, movies etc. Hope that helps.
