So it finally happened. I forgot to put it back on my desk as I tilted the screen back up and down it went, bouncing hard on its edge against my porcelain tile floor. What Microsoft buoyantly means by "backlit" is that the Caps, Fn, ScrLk and NumLk keys have an LED indicating when their functions are locked:

I pre-ordered the top model in November. The ship date for new orders changed to June at the Microsoft online store sometime in January.

I ordered the Surface Studio in November. A quick chat inquiry at the Microsoft store only yielded "we haven't been told when the product will be released". My main design rig is officially defunct and am having to rely on a not very capable laptop. It'd be nice to known when it'll be here!
