I moved to Android/iOS, and I miss ... from WM

I agree, but I was talking stock out-of-the box experience. And oh yes, how could I forget about double-tap! I still do it, by old habit.

I moved to Android/iOS, and I miss ... from WM

Well, this is in response to numerous - and justified - threads about WM bugs. What I miss in out-of-the-box Android after WM: - big square tiles! - widgets NOT being separate from app icons. - vertically scrolled homescreen - included offline maps - ability to pin separate tiles for...

    Bugs that drive you crazy

For me, most annoying is Bluetooth issues. And a whole scatter of small bugs here and there (unresponsive "Check for updates" settings option, from time to time camera app reports errors, then it's fixed, after some update it is reporting errors again, etc. etc.). That being said, I really like...

Should I Upgrade Lumia 640 to Win 10

I don't know what is factory restore, but hard reset, performed after the upgrade, will not downgrade from your latest WM10 version.

    W10M - The Sad Truth

I'm not a heavy user by any means. Unlocked AT&T 640 at 10.0.14393.576. Recently reinstalled OS from scratch, hoping that it would fix some issues, but to no avail. Simplest test. Go to Settings ->"Update & security". There tap "Phone update". It should get you to the form where you can manually...

    W10M - The Sad Truth

Given that Intel cancelled its smartphone SOCs development, it is safe to say never.

    W10M - The Sad Truth

Same here. Switching to Android, not because of apps gap or something, but because of WM10 instability. Never know when it decides to misbehave. Will see how it goes with stock Android. Also, see no point in listing all the bugs I meet, as I don't think fixing them is anywhere near top priority...

    side effects after using Bluetooth

Try shut down or disconnect bluetooth device first, and then shut down bluetooth on the phone. I.e. do not switch phone bluetooth off while the external device is connected.

    side effects after using Bluetooth

...and (yes, I keep talking to myself) I also noticed, that if I switch off hands-free device first, so the phone disconnects from it, and then switch bluetooth off on the phone itself, everything works fine. The bug appears when I switch phone bluetooth off first - which I'm used to, as the...

Lumia 640, 1 year later: Are you still using it?

I'm still using it. But already looking forward to my next phone which will definitely NOT be WM. There are a few annoying details which force me off: 1) very annoying bluetooth bug I described here. Wonder why nobody else ever mentioned it, as it's hard to believe I'm the only active user of...

    side effects after using Bluetooth

Upd.: even hard reset didn't fix it. Btw, below is the video of another weird, but, I believe, relevant, post-Bluetooth issue. post-Bluetooth bug

    side effects after using Bluetooth

I have a weird Bluetooth (from here on BT) issue on my unlocked ATT Lumia 640. After I used BT in driving mode, then, even though hands-free device have been disconnected from the phone long ago, and even with BT on the phone switched off, incoming calls are always redirected to "BT" device. It...

    No Skype video after KB3194496

Tried to repeat what I did? Basically, go to the Tools -> Options -> Video Settings and check whether the camera is active there? And if yes, click "Save" without even changing anything?

    No Skype video after KB3194496

I just fixed the issue - if it can be said so - the strangest way possible. Went to Tools -> Options -> Video Settings. The camera was there. Changing nothing, clicked Save. And after this Call -> Video option became enabled (it was grayed out before)...

    No Skype video after KB3194496

The thread name pretty much says it... Video option is grayed out, like there's no camera in the system. It is the Dell i5559 laptop with integrated Intel RealSense webcam. Dell diagnostics tool says camera hardware is Ok, and even shows a few seconds of video from the camera when running a...
