I can verify that no, Castle of Illusion doesn't work with the controller. :( Oh well, now I can more easily play that list of ROMs I have. :)

I love Windows Phone too much to go back to another Android phone. I mean, I'm sure I could, but as it stands, nope. I'm quite​ happy with my Lumia 1020.

One person has already mentioned it, but I love Zedge. I strongly suggest that app.

I use the camera button way too much to want to see it go, but I have used it many times without the button and been just fine. I've actually been doing a small Instagram/street photo project and using the software open makes it easier to get the shots without bringing attention to myself.

I'm sorry you had an issue. I'd say, it was a faulty unit. I got my 1020 on release day here in the States, and I haven't had a single issue with my phone's battery, and I'm a moderate to heavy user (multiple syncing emails, streaming music, LOTS of browsing and tethering while at work, etc)...

In my experience, no, it saves both crops. You can only see the latest one in the camera roll, though. I know I end up with a lot of recrops on Skydrive, anyways.

I have the yellow 1020. LOVE it, though my gf hates it (she hates the color yellow - no I didn't get it to annoy her). I would have opted for a green, if they'd made one like HTC has, but they didn't, so I went with the next best thing. No regrets.
