OK I've deleted all of my photos and videos to make space to complete the install however the "system" is still taking over 7GB on a htc 8x.

Hi, I recently downloaded an update for an app which was 1GB. I had just over a GB remaining but the install failed saying too little storage. Now I only have 100MB free storage and it is being taken up by the "system" section in the storage settings. Does anyone have any idea how to clear this...
