I think the Dell Venue 11 Pro is going to be your best bet outside of the Surface 2.

I've been looking to get an 8 inch tablet for note taking for some time now. I made myself wait for Computex to see if anything new and compelling would come out, and so far nothing. We have seen the offerings from Asus, Acer, Dell, and Toshiba - I can't imagine we're going to see anything...

Can anyone guess what model i3 exactly they'll be putting in? I haven't found anything other than "fourth generation", which leaves some room for performance and clock speed.

It's more powerful than both, running the top end Bay Trail. Also has a better screen. Looks like a great deal.

Temash looked very exciting last year in terms of gaming power. Shame that noone used it, at least in the US. Hopefully this is an improvement over that, and that people actually put it in some devices.
