W10M is dying right in front of my eyes :-(

I love my Lumia 1520 more than I should but I don't actually use it because of the app gap. If there were actual apps on windows phone I'd happily use that phone for years.

Surface Book from Macbook Air 2 Months in

The keyboard is only really a problem in that particular light where the backlight doesn't help but it's too dark to see the keys properly. That in between light. A minor quibble really.

Surface Book from Macbook Air 2 Months in

Just wanted to say that I'm really liking the Surface Book. Not sure why but mine was a bit buggy the first week or so but has settled down fine. It's now rock solid and no issues of any kind. I like having the touchscreen and pen. Taking notes during a meeting with the pen was just brilliant...

New Surface Book(11-29-2016) with Performance Base i7/16GB/512 SLOW internet

This is the problem with interconnected technologies. As soon as you go updating parts of an integrated system it can cause issues in other parts. I'd certainly be putting my money on the router as well.

Issues when scrolling on the Navigation Pane

Some may think it's nitpicky but I couldn't stand it and would not put up with that behavior at all. Everybody is different though. My Surface book doesn't do this at all.

    Walnut Skin

How does that leather one work with the screen reversed? Looks great. I love the feel of the natural materials. Picking up my laptop and feeling the warm texture of the wood skin is great. Less slippery than aluminum and it stays warmer when cold and disipates the heat when it gets hot.

Detaching the Clipboard (Please Resolve before detaching) now allowed by some apps

Something strange for sure. Mine won't ask me to resolve before detaching. I tried it with the store, OneNote, edge, chrome etc. with no problems. Only apps that require I close them on mine are Adobe apps because they are using the GPU in the base. You might try downloading and installing the...

New Surface Book with Performance Base i7/16GB/1TB shutdown overnight while in Sleep Mode

I found my Surface Book was buggy for the first week. Not sure why that happens but it's pretty good now. I'd wait a few days like the previous post indicates to see if it gets better.

    Walnut Skin

I've only just installed it so time will tell if it holds up. It does have a lifetime warranty though so I'm guessing they'll send me new pieces should they break.

    Walnut Skin

Just installed a walnut skin cover I ordered on Amazon. I didn't get the Toast one because 100 bucks was a little steep for me. This one was 35 bucks. Came unfinished. I had to sand it and apply a finish to it. It feels amazing. The feel of natural wood instead of cold metal really makes a...

Macbook Pro Retina to Surfacebook impressions and thoughts

If you want to dip your toes in the water of windows phone I'd suggest a lumia 1520 if you want to do so on the cheap. It doesn't have continuum but everything else is brilliant and they can be had for around 200 or so. I love mine to death and won'tget rid of it despite switching to android a...

    SB for photo editing

The pen is brilliant in lightroom. I love using the pen for direct edits. Much more intuitive than a mouse or trackpad. I'm running an i5 with dGPU and lightroom runs great. I'm sure photoshop will be no problem at all.

my first impressions coming from a Macbook Pro

I'm on week 2 of mine. Coming from a Macbook Air. Been pretty good so far. Once I lost my cursor in Chrome. I had a few issues setting everything up. Got those ironed out pretty quickly. Had a hard time connecting an external drive the first time. I had to go in and name the drive apparently. A...

    Battery question?

My initial research shows that this is likely normal behavior. I can see it from a long term battery health perspective. Wish we could have the opportunity to fine tune how this behavior happens. I'd like the ability to allow use of screen battery after a certain percentage of base battery is used.
