What are advantages of keeping contacts and calendar on Outlook acc. vs moving both to Google acc.?

Well, it won't get added to an advertising profile that Google sells. Of course the profile is said to be "unidentifiable", but you know, some people still are wary about that. I have my contacts on Google, and my calendar on Microsoft. Google Contacts is better in the way that allows for custom...

    Edge App vs Bing App

The Microsoft Launcher bar isn't a widget. It's built into the launcher. You can set it to use Bing AFAIK. I stopped using MS Launcher a while back.

How to get Microsoft contacts on Android?

Pixel's exchange sync is broken. I think Google stopped supporting ActiveSync directly. I remember reading that. Third party OEMs like Samsung and LG (Particularly Samsung because they have deals with MS and preloading their apps) still adds it back in. Samsung actually is probably the best...

Do you use Microsoft Launcher/Cortana Reminders?

You can turn off the reminder from Microsoft Launcher.

    Notification sounds and alternate apps

You can't anymore. Not on any phone running Oreo and above. Google blocked apps intercepting notifications for other apps. Samsung Contacts used that to set specific message tones before. So it got broke. You can set notifications on a thread basis now in the Messaging app.

    Notification sounds and alternate apps

You're supposed to add them to a specific folder. I forget which one. I use Zedge to download which automatically puts them in the correct place for the system to recognize them as tones.

    Notification sounds and alternate apps

    1. Yes. Open the messaging app press the 3 dots>settings>notifications. You can change the sound there. 2. All of them behaves as you describe. The only way they'd go back to the last thread is if you pressed home button instead of the back button to exit.

    Outlook for contacts on Android

You'd expect that yes. But I do like the Samsung calendar and email apps better. Not really a fan of burying the calendar like the Outlook app does. I'd prefer them to be just separate and coordinate in the background.

    Outlook for contacts on Android

It's a simple solution really. Don't use the Outlook app at all. Open the Samsung Email app, and connect your Outlook.com account to it. Then go to settings>accounts>exchange>you will see your Outlook account there. Just make sure calendar and contacts are set to sync and everything will work...

    Outlook for contacts on Android

That depends on the phone if it has a standalone contacts app like Samsung does. If you're using a Pixel/Nokia/Android One device, it has the Google Contacts app by default, so it's really going to to be a bit frustrating since that's primarily designed to sync with Google.

    Outlook for contacts on Android

Yes. Depends on the Android phone though. On a Samsung just add an Exchange Account and turn on contact sync.

Just switched from w10m. Need some help

Cortana is integrated into Microsoft Launcher now. It's not a separate app. Microsoft to-do is actually pretty good. On Swiftkey, just hold press the backspace to delete by word, and one tap for per character. This doesn't change whether you swiped or not. You can adjust the long press...

A question for other Windows Phone/Mobile converts

I tried Aquamail's free version before (limited to 2 accounts and has a watermark/sig by the dev). It's nice, but I didn't feel it was worth the $10 they're asking, especially when there are pretty solid alternatives that are much cheaper or even free.

A question for other Windows Phone/Mobile converts

So basically it's another reason why not to choose 'stock' Android then. Sorry. I'm just one of those people who thinks stock is overrated.
