I like the interface of 10 better and I find it easier to navigate, but the update has killed my battery life as well. Any suggestions?

Everyone raves about the SP3's lap-ability but I think it's a lack of ability. I use my SP3 as a laptop and I find it frustrating to use when it's not on a hard surface (eg my lap). I found this forum when I was looking for an accessory that might make using the SP3 in this way easier for me...
