Chime in: Are you STILL using a Windows Phone? If, yes, why?

I still use my 950 as my sole phone. But due to it being me who has to deal with phones, tablets, and computers in our household, I too am leaving to go with Android instead. I'll get an Xperia Compact of some sort. THe actual reason, apart it being easier for me to have everything running the...

Mail and Calendar app in W10 Pro crashing at startup

The revo uninstaller clean-up and the disk cleaner unit is less about making room, and more about cleaning stuff up, so old, unnecessary files etc. are removed. It usually works for me. It's the same deal with cleaning your browser cache. It's not working because it makes more space on the...

Mail and Calendar app in W10 Pro crashing at startup

Have you tried doing a "disk clean up" before? Or run a cleanup with revo uninstaller? Usually one of those works for me when something can't be installed or can't run.

    Context aware ringtone volume

Maybe. I think it needs a bit of trial and error, but I guess an average might do it.

    Context aware ringtone volume

Hm, not sure that would work as well as I'd like. If the microphone is rubbing even ever so slightly in a bag or a loose pocket, it will think there is A LOT of background noise when there really isn't.

    Farewll 950XL

I know. That's why I took notice when MS suddenly mentioned "for ARM" on the update. Why mention it, if there isn't (soon going to be) something that does not run on ARM?

    Farewll 950XL

Am I the only one who noticed that the latest update (release) version for my phone said "Windows 10 Mobile xxxx-something 'for ARM'"? Or maybe it used to say that before too, but I haven't noticed it before. Edit: That makes it sound (to me) as if there's about to be another mobile release not...

Using with a External Hard Drive

Do a search for "USB C Hub" on amazon or the like. You should be able to find one to your liking.

Every single laptop/tablet sold should come with Windows 10 S as default. Agree?

Re: Every single laptop/tablet sold should come with Windows 10 S as default. No, just no. I don't buy computers to support a company. I buy them to get work done. I am also not going to buy into a closed and tied down eco system ever again.

Sooooo, are you going to buy the Surface Laptop or what?

Almost the same here - I love my Thinkpad Yoga 260! It does "tablet" very well too.

Microsoft's wind-down of its phone business "expected to be completed by end of June!"

My point was that although Blackberry failed (since they are a hardware company at heart), it doesn't mean that MS will fail (as they're a software company at heart)

Microsoft's wind-down of its phone business "expected to be completed by end of June!"

But Microsoft is a software company at heart. Blackberry not so much.

What does Microsoft need to do to bring you back to Windows Mobile?

Because something else is in the pipeline? Or perhaps they're through with manufacturing phones themselves?

Microsoft's wind-down of its phone business "expected to be completed by end of June!"

Re: Microsoft's wind-down Yes, yes. I'm quite happy with my 950, and unless it will be over two years from now (and the 950 still works - i.e. no spilled liquids), I won't be buying the next windows phone (first or third party). I am not buying phones to "save" a company or a platform. I'm...
