the 928 update was probably just a pre-update update to get our phones ready for black. My guess is that black will be pushed out either monday next week or the week after.

Yeah I confirmed on my phone it is still amber... Very strange. I guess Verizon just didnt have us on the latest firmware, which I assume is required to update to GDR3 and Black

Hopefully since Verizon is pushing this small update, that means they are prepping for black.

So it looks like it was a bust. It just downloaded the latest firmware that nokia has on it's update site. 3045.0000.1328.2046. Dang it! That got me all excited :(

Just hit the ol' Check for update on my phone and it started downloading an update for my VZ 928! (USA)

although windows 8 has the ability to "refresh" or what not, it still requires a disk for the additional files. This is not the fault of the original owner. I just installed windows 8 on my desktop via upgrade, then did a refresh, and it required my windows 8 upgrade disk to be in the drive.

unfortunately they wont give me a replacement because the phone has a small crack. They said they would be glad to send me one, but because of the crack, I would get charged 300 bucks for the replacement... which is so stupid. It's not like the screen is shattered... Really makes me pissed about...

I have tried all of these methods, but it is still stuck on the black screen with the battery icon :/ When the phone turns on and off, it never actually boots into windows, it goes straight from the "HTC quietly brilliant" screen to the black screen with the "charging battery" icon, so calls...
