    Mapping alternative?

I tried using alternatives for awhile, but tbh, even those here wego is a close runner up, it's not as good as google maps in terms of pathfinding.

What android apps are actually worth running?

I have aurora store installed + micro g, so 90% of all apps are possible (altho not everything). But as much as I like a clean experience PWAs and windows store apps + the browser covers most of what I'd want to do. The android subsystem is a bit of a resource hog too, so kind of better not to...

PC can't upgrade to W11? It doesn't matter!

Most users have to switch something on in their bios, to be compatible, but unless your PC is quite old, generally, it will be. There will always be people that stay behind, and that's fine. Most apps will stay compatible until there's an update that is useful dependency, as you say, and then...

Are you interested in running Android apps on Windows 11?

The issue with sideloading is, well - almost every app that doesn't have google play dependancies will be on the amazon app store. If it's not there, odds are it has dependencies. A few open source gems on fdroid really being the only exception. If you try and run something with these...

Are you interested in running Android apps on Windows 11?

Outside of whether it's useful to me, I think it's an extremely clever move. Amazon app store development will increase with a larger userbase. Between amazon, and windows, the userbase is then big enough to justify avoiding play services where viable for android developers. And between that...

Are you interested in running Android apps on Windows 11?

It depends on the user. I use PWA's all the time, and have installed many apps from the windows store. Some users still prefer to do everything out of the browser. There will likely be 3-6 android apps I find worthy of having on my PC.

Android apps and Google Play Dependencies

Installing android apps is useful, well to me at least. I already run numerous PWAs as apps. And, apparently you can side load android apps, not JUST install them from the amazon app store. But there's a problem - apps on googles play store are strongly encouraged to run checks as to whether...

Best windows s mode laptop or 2 in 1?

I'm looking for a windows s machine, to manage my cryptocurrency. S mode obviously removes the risk of malware and the like. A finger print scanner would not be a terrible addition. Probably better if it has a 360 design if 2 in 1, or a firm keyboard dock, rather than the surface pro style...

    A piece of crap

Could be either a virus, or some piece of software chewing up system resources. Have a look for high resource apps under the taskmanager and run a malware/virus check. Make sure your drives aren't overly full (full system drive will cause slow downs).

    Limiting CPU speed for profiling

Maximum CPU speed, under power profiles, in power options, under settings in windows 10.

Is There Really A Need For Xbox Consoles At This Point?

In order to be a full replacement it would need to be A) Cheaper B) 100% reliable. Given netflix isn't 100% reliable in most places, and 5G is positional, I think we may be waiting on fiber 2.0 and the attendant infrastructure upgrade before we are there. I think xcloud is more of a side...

Is There Really A Need For Xbox Consoles At This Point?

Well, it was produced by MSFT themselves, so it's slightly different. But yes, in the sense that consumers want to be able to play games without too much cost of entry. Which is why it's great for consumers that MSFT is opening up - putting games on steam, on PC, working with other companies...

Is There Really A Need For Xbox Consoles At This Point?

Not at all, it's just an odd place to get gaming news. They do have sort of early news of xstream, game pass related stuff, and some inside info on xbox studios acquisitions, so I suppose that makes some sense. Just not what I think of as the sites forte.

Is There Really A Need For Xbox Consoles At This Point?

I don't really know about microtransactions. I mean, if microsoft has those in games, they are games I don't play. Far as I can see, microsofts gaming houses are amongst the strongest supporters of single player games, that seem to me at the most to have DLCs. Which people like EA, and epic are...

Is There Really A Need For Xbox Consoles At This Point?

Consoles are easier/less setup. I know folks that don't want to mess with gaming on a PC. Plus, they are often considerably cheaper new, for current generation graphics. No fussing with settings. I mean, it's a considerably easier proposition. Sure you COULD build a PC from cheap parts with...
