Yep, video picker API and proper write/read access to SD Card are very likely to be included. I don't think anything else low-level (like registry editing and stuff) is going to be exposed.

He already answered, he's a Nokia partner in China. That's how he got access to OEM level API. I'm leaning on the idea that the video-related rights will be provided to all developers in Windows Phone 8.1 in spring 2014.

Thanks for the new version, now subtitles work almost perfectly and 1080p reproduction works without slowdowns as far as I tested. I bought the app without any doubts now. How long for MKV 10bit support? With that we would get the BEST video player indeed. :D EDIT: Just tried a couple of...

As soon as embedded subtitles and 10bit support is fixed, I'll be glad to buy it as well for my two devices. I am a fellow developer and I can understand the pain of porting such a massive app on a different platform. Good luck and I'll be keeping an eye on this thread. :)
