HTC One M8 (Android) vs HTC One M8 (Windows Phone): Camera Comparison

I would also add that if you're at all interested in shooting video, that the Icon and 1520 are better choices. Smoother video performance, and better sound recording. Some of the Icon and 1520 video is really outstanding. The M8 video I shot was always poor, though that could be a result of...

HTC One M8 (Android) vs HTC One M8 (Windows Phone): Camera Comparison

Terrible blog post. I won't pick apart the whole thing, but I will discuss this statement from the first link: "As you can see here, there’s a lot that can be said about the differences between the cameras. I included the Nokia Lumia 1020 so you can see that the amount of megapixels don’t mean...

Perfect - just the type of feedback I was looking for. Thanks!

Are you happy with your Surface Pro 3? Thinking of buying one, but...

I'm thinking of buying a Surface Pro 3, but I'm a little worried, given page after page of complaints with various problems/issues/defects. I understand that a forum is likely to be populated mostly with complaints, and people looking for help from others to solve problems. However, I'm...

    Firmware 1028.3566.1417.0047

Picked up a new Lumia Icon at the nearby Microsoft store today. I can confirm it has this firmware version. But shouldn't all Lumia Icons be on the same version of the firmware? Only exception might be if you're on the 8.1 beta, but I thought the firmware and Windows OS version are different...

Pictures / Video taken with your Lumia Icon

I have to take my Icon in for an issue with the gyro sensor not working, but here are a few photos taken with it today. Great little camera on this thing.

Photos viewed full screen from album won't rotate when I rotate the screen

Thanks! Yeah, the gyroscope seems to be all screwed up. Looks like a hardware issue. I had tried a soft reset. hard reset, turning device on/off, checking rotation lock. It's definitely defective, and going to back to Verizon. Thanks for the link to the diagnostic tool app.

Photos viewed full screen from album won't rotate when I rotate the screen

Actually, it appears I have a defective phone. Just received my white Lumia Icon today. Rolled back to Windows 8.0 with Nokia's rollback tool, and no apps rotate when I rotate the phones. Perhaps the sensor that detects rotation is defective? I know other Windows 8 phones rotated some apps...

Photos viewed full screen from album won't rotate when I rotate the screen

This is enough of an issue to have me rollback to 8.0. Anyone else having this issue? Photos taken in landscape mode won't display in landscape mode when I view in the album and rotate the phone.

Redish screen tint when on lowest brightness setting...

When looking at something white on screen, do those white areas have a redish tint at lowest brightness setting? I notice this with my Lumia Icon, but not with other Lumia Windows phones. I just want to be sure that this is normal, as I'm still within the return window with VZW. If I set the...

Pressing on back of phone, feels hollow and creaky - normal?

Other Lumia Icon owners - if you press on the back of the phone, does it feel hollow and creaky? Just wondering if this normal. Other phones I've owned feel solid and don't have much give to them. The Icon does have some give and a hollow feeling, but perhaps this is normal? Thanks!

Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520

re: Pictures & Videos Taken With My Lumia 1520 It's pretty clear as to why the low-end standalone P&S camera market is taking a hit. The 1020 and 1520 are perfect examples of camera phones with quality that is good enough for 75% of people's shooting needs. And depending on the conditions...
