Microsoft well known for breaking promise

If you felt that the 950 was not marketed across the board, what did you think of the Elite and the Idol? The Idol is finally available (online) where I live, but only after its price has been slashed in the US and worldwide, and with a 25% markup to take full advantage of my innocent, naive...

Have you ever wished you could go back to using a dumbphone?

Your point about the GPS made me wonder whether there were feature phones which had maps, so I tried a little search then got distracted by an article I think you may find interesting: Explaining Japan's feature phone fetish - Endgadget...

Have you ever wished you could go back to using a dumbphone?

You struck a chord here. Back in the day where the most advanced app on a phone was snake, I made it a point to buy an Atlas (atlas atlas, not road atlas) because I had a huge interest in geography. Now that I can access Wikipedia it would be redundant, and this feels like a huge loss. I also...

Poll for 950/XL users - Do you Mozo? Or nah...

You just described exactly how my buttons receded, so I guess it's a common thing. I personally will not bother contacting them since I expect a new one will perform in a similar fashion. If it becomes to tedious I will switch back to tapping on and off, or back to the old cover if worst comes...

Microsoft well known for breaking promise

a5cent, mtf1380, The reason for my statement is specifically that no one hears nearly enough about plans for W10M from MS. Pair that to the speculation on ARM or the Surface phone, then the official news of MS partnering with Samsung to sell an Android phone, and you can see why I referred to...

Microsoft well known for breaking promise

You're right, you don't. Others on this thread seem to think so, though. And companies are counting on them to do it. You also did mention that... "If more people upgraded to the 950/XL instead of holding on to whatever they have now it would probably be better." ...which is where my response...

Microsoft well known for breaking promise

Indulge me here. Years ago, European football teams had the habit of releasing new kits before the start of every season. When complaints came up from fans (and their parents) having to pay top euro for the privilege of wearing the newest, whitest Real Madrid shirt, regulators required a minimum...

Have you ever wished you could go back to using a dumbphone?

I can't recommend a therapist, but you could probably find an app for that somewhere. Dad joke aside, over the past decade, an internet connection accompanying me wherever I go meant the difference between success and failure. So a completely dumb dumbphone would be out of the question. On the...

    Samsung S8 Microsoft edition

Forgive me for sounding like a wet blanket, but the last time Samsung stepped up onto the WM stage, they gave us the Ativ S, which was a year old Galaxy (S3?) that had WP8 slapped on. If this is anything to go by, then you're better off waiting for the mythical Surface Phone.

Windows 10 Mobile Devices and Shutting Down

I think you just solved everyone's problem. No one will ever want to shut a WM phone down ever again after what you said.

    Samsung S8 Microsoft edition

http://www.windowscentral.com/using-samsung-galaxy-s8-windows Just realized there is an article posted here that explains how to make use of an S8 with Windows, and I am sold. As soon as my Lumia dies (so probably by the time the Galaxy S9 rolls out) I will likely jump ship. Funny how half a...

    Samsung S8 Microsoft edition

As silly as you sound, you are absolutely right. I, for one, am worried about taking my next step when buying a phone. If we are going down the Android road, let us make it official the way Blackberry did. Every step has been done so unceremoniously that the user base for WM is now largely...

    Samsung S8 Microsoft edition

I'm not sure whether your question is served with a pinch of cynicism, but I would answer either way: Yes. The services of the internet are best delivered to everyone in equal measure, or as close as possible That means that, just as MS give their services to iOS and Android users, Google...

What needs to happen in order for the Surface Phone to succeed?

You forgot a third, much more important factor. Hardware is great and all, we had wireless charging and amazing cameras way before the market leaders (still do to some extent), we also had the expandable desktop environment before anyone else. Software tweaks like what you suggested might...
