I have completely lost faith in Microsoft and their ability to produce a mobile phone operating system.

I think I would go with "Lumia" but as I have now moved away from a Microsoft operating system phone it will have to be a good phone to cause me to come back. I really don't trust Microsoft with mobile operating systems anymore.

Windows 10 Home or Pro on most machines. Windows Home Server on our server and yes I even have a Windows 95 laptop - for those that might remember it a Toshiba Libretto 100CT and yes it still works!
