#2 is already implemented. Right-click on the Task bar and make sure "Show Task View button" is checked. A desktop switcher button should be added right next to the Cortana search box.

I like the second one. Although my PC boots so fast I would probably never see it unless the animation was forced to play before complete boot up.

MS released build 14295 today that is supposed to fix the gamepad glitch.

I had this same problem after the November update for Windows 10. My Internet connection would go down every 10 minutes. There was an update later on that fixed the problem. Make sure you have all of the Windows 10 updates installed.
