Well in a sense it is the hardware, hardware working as intended. The 520 doesn't have optical stabilization so it can't rely on slower shutter speed in low light conditions but instead needs to ramp up the ISO value to gain light sensitivity. This also adds lots of noise (those bright pixels).

Sadly I can't say, though I think they could've fixed it just by replacing the headphone jack, which I'd imagine isn't that expensive, and not the the whole assembly. (don't quote me on that though) But since it was under warranty they opted to changing the whole thing.

I had problems with my headset a while back, suddenly music started pausing for no apparent reason and finally the phone started switching to speaker while the headset was plugged in. I still had warranty left so took the phone to a service center. They replaced the top connector board (headset...

It states at the Tekfusion's site that the Twinwoofers (M) uses 4 Pin 3.5m Gold Plated (CTIA) connector which is the same as AHJ (American Headphone Jack) that Lumia 720 uses, so I don't see why they wouldn't work together.
