Microsoft Reportedly Testing New Phone With New Windows Mobile OS

For me the reboots signal that they don't know what they want, they keep releasing one half arsed solution after another. If there is a vision it's repeatedly thrown out and replaced with a new one. Instead of polishing and perfecting what they have they keep bringing one buggy solution after...

    Frustrating.

I think if they make it available for the phones at all, they will test the performance on various models and then set up upgrade paths based on the results. It does not make sense to install it if the phone runs like a dog after.

    SMTP not working

This was resolved with today's FW update of x3 elite. Somebody does listen. Me happy :)

    Frustrating.

Personally I don't really care if I don't get Windows on ARM on my X3. I do care though if there are annoying bugs that complicate my life in daily use. I gave up on apps on SD, because it just did not work reliably. Sometimes I have to restart the phone to be able to connect with Skype to my...

HP Elite x3 - SD Card disconnecting?

Yes, this is not how I imagined a business premium phone would work. HP probably either.

HP Elite x3 - SD Card disconnecting?

One thing to try is to set up apps to be installed on the phone and not SD. After I changed that my x3 became rather stable and didn't have a problem once. Before that I had constant issues with the card disappearing and the phone freezing.

can x3 elite run x86 programs?

Mentioning software possibilities to hardware makers is very important to MS, they are courting them to start making a new range of devices that they believe will be very attractive to consumers, because they combine an efficiency of ARM and full functionality of Windows. They are saying this is...

can x3 elite run x86 programs?

MS was concentrating on Intel for a long time, their ARM solutions did not do well. What this says, that with this one can build very attractive Windows tablets and lightweight laptops with ARM processors, because they combine the best things of the two worlds.

can x3 elite run x86 programs?

What they showed was a proof of concept, that it is possible. I do not expect them to use it in phones. Despite everything, what's the point of being able to use it on the phone. It makes a lot of sense on tablets and laptops, though. The whole Continuum thing is a bit gimmicky to me, too...

    Elite x3 freezes every text

If you use SD remove it, there's something dodgy about it, SW or HW-wise. After I did that everything started working well. I wanted to write 'perfectly', but that would be pushing it. Eventually I found out that if I used SD only for the data and not for installing apps, the phone remained...

HP Elite x3 or Lumia 950 XL?

I had (still have) Lumia 1520, but its phantom touch "feature" seams to deteriorate quickly, so I bought the x3. In comparison the only thing that I really find better is the fingerprint reader. It is a really convenient way to unlock the phone. I do not care for Continuum. So I'd say to move on...

HP Elite x3 Bugs + Defects

I will try that. BTW I just set up the same email account on my very first smartphone, HTC Desire, and it works fine.

Found out the hard way: HP Support is awesome!

Good support is always a nice thing, but I do wonder how they feel about the whole project now. There have been 2 FW updates already and they are exchanging the phones no questions asked. Looks like there might have been some ****-up during designing and/ or manufacturing the phone. You do not...

W10 and ARM... here we are!

Using phone for presentations with your customer's TV, there's something cheap about it there. If you want to impress, make an effort, bring your own equipment, use HoloLens instead, I'd say. I rather wonder what Intel people think about it. For MS it's the same, a Windows license for a license...

W10 and ARM... here we are!

They pitched Windows phones with Continuum as a potential laptop replacement, now these cellular PCs are doing the same, they are light, less power hungry, but still can do the same as a laptop and will have a big screen. My money is on a cellular PC. I don't see this as an USP for a phone...
