Why does everything Apple does for it's phones need to be given to others? If you want cross platform communication use WhatsApp or BBM. Should I expect all of Windows Phone 8 features be given to every other platform now since Windows doesnt support lock-in?

I use windows 8 on my dual booted MacBook and I dreaded having to use metro. I don't want apps taking up my entire screen. Settings was a pain in the ***. It severely hampered work flow. I don't want a touch dominated OS on my laptop.

It doesn't make any sense but there is a possibility that they did it to get people talking about the weird numbering system and hence the OS. I just hope for windows phone users that it won't be a downgrade like windows phone 7 to windows phone 8 was.
