That seems like a sound explanation. Hardware that's more on the lean side isn't really designed for all their background processing and may be suffering from the phone trying to do too much behind the curtain.

Aww mate, that sucks. I had message problems the first week of 10 mobile launching, but it seemed to get ironed out pretty quickly. What I've noticed is that a lot of the older phones built for 8 and 8.1 simply do not transfer well to 10 and have a lot more problems. My oldest one didn't like 10...

I have used and still use Apple and Android, and they are frustrating beyond words. I prefer the Windows Mobile interface, despite its superficial flaws.

I also wanted to say the thing that instantly impressed me about the 550, which caught me within minutes of opening the box, is the impressive viewing angle of the screen. It has more consistent color cast than my high end Android screens.

I say yes, I want this. I don't know how the hardware would cope with heat dispersion and battery capacity, but I definitely want it.

The increase in RAM and screen resolution are most welcome. The 550 feels a little sluggish sometimes while navigating menus in settings, but it holds apps in memory well so I can't complain. If a Surface Phone launched and had stylus support, I would be all over that.
