Sorry, I don't really know - because I didn't see the app when I switched my live ID, I hard reset and moved back to my regular ID (then, unlocked the phone and installed the application without marketplace)

it didn't work for me... but since I had apphub, I just "unlocked" my lumia and installed the application without the marketplace.

Not sure about the op, but I've been struggling with that all day today (and yesterday). Changing the region didn't do anything - I couldn't even find the nokia app in the marketplace! The only thing that has (partially) worked is resetting the device and logging on with a new live account that...

I contacted Nokia - and their suggestion was to reset the device and register using a UK based live account - apparently, these apps are not available for US based accounts..

not sure about your question about the missing apps - it may be region specific, so you may not get those. For software updates, the WP7 connector should work for software updates too. I'm a PC user, so can't confirm, but the user guide indicates that it should work

I initially tried it without a SIM (since I didn't have one) - didn't see the app. Then, I thought that maybe it would get added once I added the SIM - no luck :( I just noticed that Nokia App highlights is missing too... The only Nokia app I have is Nokia drive.

That's so weird... can you please share the link to the application in the marketplace? (assuming you can find it in the web version of the marketplace) When I search for nokia music in the marketplace (in zune, or in lumia or in web-version), I only find "Lumia music".

That would really depend on the frequency bands that your carrier uses and the bands that the phone supports. Example: in the US, T-mobile and AT&T use different frequencies for 3G. So, unless you have a pentaband phone (like the Galaxy Nexus or others), your phone may not get 3G speeds on both...

@op - to second what TheWeeBear said, try the hard reset before you try to flash a new ROM. You have nothing to lose - it just may work. If it doesn't, you can try the other options Settings / About / Reset Your Phone

Really? Yikes! Hopefully, there is a way to override that. Else, whenever I'm at home, but not actively using/charging my phone, I won't receive any Emails/updates. (waiting on my phone to be delivered - so don't know the options that are available) :)
