Brilliant! I cleaned the screen with a cloth, dialed while on the desk and used bluetooth headset and it would still go dark like my face was near it. One puckered blowout and voila! no issues. Who would have guessed that the proximity sensor would get a pile of dust. Thanks for the tip.
