Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

What build of Windows are you running now? There are different audio issues in the last couple of builds. Thanks!

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

Strange... I don't know of any reason why your combination would work. Can you try downloading and installing the Windows 7 drivers from ASUS? 64-bit: http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/Drivers/Audio/Audio_Realtek_ALC663_Win7_64_Z6016387.zip 32-bit...

How can I fix the sound distortion I am experiencing with Windows 10 on my Sony Vaio laptop (model SVF152C29M.)?

What is the version number of the Realtek driver you're using? 6.0.1.7488 should solve the static on all configurations, but if you've got something that still produces static I'd love to hear about it. Thanks! John W [MSFT]

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

Hey, sorry I've been absent! The combination of Build 10049 and Realtek drivers 6.0.1.7458 or later work for *most* people. There are a very few configs that need 6.0.1.7488, which I'm not sure is on Windows Update just yet (I'm off today, so don't have access to that info). If you're having...

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

Yes, I'm seeing the same thing. I think we've got it licked in the next build but would love to hear your results once we send that out. Thanks!

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

There's a new version due out very soon (in a few days), I'd like to know if that resolves anything for you. Thanks!

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

Is it showing the same version of the Realtek driver after you reboot, or is it getting changed somehow (i.e. by PnP)? Thanks!

Why is Windows 10 splitting my 3 Speakers into two separate devices?

Re: Windows 10 is Splitting my 3 Speakers into two separate devices. The basic Windows driver only supports stereo, no subwoofer. This explains why your audio ends up with only two channels when using that driver. As to the sound quality of the Realtek drivers, a fix should be released by...

    No sound on Build 9926

Without a DxDiag I can't confirm, but it sounds like this may be HDAUDIO-compliant. In that case you can try using the Microsoft HdAudio.sys driver: Troubleshooting: how to install the Microsoft HD Audio class driver - Matthew van Eerde's web log - Site Home - MSDN Blogs Let us know if this...

Having Windows 10 preview sound problems?

There are a couple of things going on with Realtek right now. One is that the latest driver on WU sometimes times out on installation, so it's spotty trying to get the latest update. The other is that we're seeing (sometimes severe) distortion problems on Realtek. Both issues are under...

    Windows 10 Spotify issue

Thanks for bringing this up. We had some Spotify issues a while back, but thought we had resolved them. I'll take another look. Can you give me specifics of error messages if you have any?

No sound when booting with connected phone

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue with my Lumia 920. I have a couple of extra questions... - Is it just music that doesn't play, or is there no sound at all? - Does it depend on the USB port you're using, or does this happen when the phone is plugged into any port? Thanks!
