It's not a useless fact, at least not for me. My Samsung ATIV came with a nice but half size digitizer, and the only alternative they offer is the Series 7 pen, which lacks the rubber coated tip. I might consider the Surface digitizer as an option. I'm a bit confused about how they have it...
