Well, that's the way these things go, isn't it? We're always waiting for the next best thing. That mindset however, has us eternally unfulfilled as what we have or can get just might not be the best..

It may have something to do with DRM. Only supported media can be shared, yada yada.. It's just a hunch, but it feels strong.. Can you try to project wirelessly to anything, even a Win 10 PC. This can help isolate the issue.

Could it be possible that your TV maybe isn't supplying enough power for it to fully boot anymore for whatever reason? Try plugging the USB into a charging block that has at least 1amp/out. It may be getting just enough juice to start starting up, but not enough...
If it was like my Actiontec ScreenBeam Mini2, that I've been rocking for over 2 years, you could force firmware via USB. I've never had to, but one could if required.
Why not try and plug a micro USB into it, then the USB A into your PC and see if you can't push firmware that way. Or maybe get...
Hmm. I've seen that a few times when doing updates, flashes & what not. Never bothered me though, because I had my stuff still. You may want to manually sync your account. I do that under the People app. Maybe sign out of the Store for a lil bit, them back in & check for Updatea.
I had the same problem with my tablet this last Slow Ring round. I clicked Activate, got an error & to try lateew, forgot about it for a while, then when I went back in, it was all fixed by itself. Hope yours goes the same way.
