Just did some more testing and it's definitely the auto focus, tried several apps (Lumia, Microsoft, oneshot and proshot) and 9 out of 10 times tap to focus of close items eg text on a piece of paper is blurry, if I do manual focus it works but most of the times I don't have time to do manual...

how did you get Nokia Camera Beta? I would love to try it, is there a way I can install this maybe via XAP install from SD card?

i too am having focus issues when taking up close pics e.g. product photos. i tap to focus it focuses fine then loses it in right when i click to take picture. i've found using the microsoft camera app rather than lumia camera app works better for closeups, but i wanted those beautiful macro...

so I finally got rid of the 8x...served me well though! I just cant resist the itch to upgrade lol, been 5 months with 8x which has probably been the longest but nothing really tempted me to switch...although I did initially want the 1020 but the o2 deal didn't go through so went for the 8x...

that makes sense as I have my data off usually and wifi disconnects when screen off....so if no network it cant ring...just wondering what the battery drain is like if you do leave wifi on even when screen times out? I only realise I missed a few viber calls after the wifi reconnects in...

Oh no, did I just jinx myself or someone put nazr on my 8x lol...just had my first random reboot while typing on whatsapp...must be whatsapp lol..hope it doesn't happen again Oh and wp should allow me to fully customise the drop down quick actions I need a 2g 3g switch!

Yup the 8x is very nifty, isn't the slimmest on paper specifications but because of the curved back it feels slim and is very comfortable to hold. Oh and I've already got quite a few comments - not that it matters but still nice! With the blackberry I would get hated on for using a bb lol quite...
