As a veteran windows phone user, I thought this might be the case lol. Thanks for the heads up - its a real shame that they don't work. Considering the great notification center though, I think this is a developer issue.

On my Lumia 930, I am not receiving any notifications for upgrades being complete, and any other notifications I have ticked in the app settings. There is no entry in the battery saver or the OS notifications settings to allow it either. Does anyone have a fix for this or can help? ​Thanks!

Give the WizTiles app a shot. This app will allow you to pin customisable tiles, which redirect to the app you wish to use. WizTiles Wiztiles | Windows Phone Apps+Games Store (Australia) There is also a paid version of this app. Hope this helps!

In that case, it could be a software bug causing an issue with the microphone hardware. Bear in mind that the Lumia 930 has multiple microphones as well - not sure which ones are utilised when Cortana is active though. Good luck with this, Kim. If in doubt, go for a direct hardware replacement...

This is interesting actually. I dare say it would have something to do with your region settings - I know this isnt normal, but it might be playing up. I am from Australia, and have given up using the US Cortana. I think i'll just wait until it rolls out properly here. Hope you get this fixed!

Thanks a lot for your help with this! It turns out, i've returned to WP. They've started to stock Green Lumia 930's in Australia, and I bought one yesterday. I will be making a "i'm back" post shortly :) i'm really glad to come back to contribute to WPC again!

It's totally down to personal preference, gmerdude. All in all, it's really down to exclusive games. You like Halo, Gears of War (maybe), Forza? Keep your Xbox One. Like Uncharted, The Last of Us, Gran Turismo? PS4. :)

Yeah, I think because Michael came from being a real WebOS enthusiast that he can appreciate the underdogs and less favourable OS'. Do yourself a favour all: open your Podcast app and subscribe to the Pocketnow Weekly - he is awesome on there and while some of the guys can say some stupid things...

I think it's needed to some extent for phones with SD Card storage. I store all my files on Onedrive so it's not quite as bothersome, but yeah I see the gripe people have it.
