In the settings area, go under the system area, then select display. Under the display settings (only when hdmi is already hooked into your tv, because if it is not in the tv this menu option will not appear) once you click on this option it will give you several options duplicate, extend, etc...

I'm sure you have already tried this but it helped me with a similar issue. I went into settings and display, then I had to chose display only on 2. Then I went into my intel settings and adjusted my resolution and that allowed me to have it all working without any issues , hope it helps.

After the most recent pc update, windows device recovery tool won't install and my pc won't pick up my Lumia 640, tried uninstalling and reinstalling all that nothing will fix it, help? Nevermind figured it.out

I just tried your recommendation and it did make noticeable difference. It still had to scan, but this time it was less then a minute compard to 10 before. Thanks!

I've have the same experience every time I soft reset, or even just power off and on, what I do is select yes fix errors and then it scans for about 10 minutes. Also while it's scanning if it falls asleep or you go off the main screen it won't fix the sd and I can't access my music, apps, etc...
