    Windows 10 for Lumia Icon

So here we are, a little over two years after the Icon came out... time flies when you're having fun! In two days, I've had my Icon for exactly two years, in fact. Sadly, I have lost it (I use a Moto X Pure now) - it's somewhere in the house, I just don't know where (I really need to find it and...

    Android apps are better?...Not...!

The Outlook Calendar on Android kinda sucks, but the email works better (IMO). It's not a big difference between the W10M apps and the Android apps for the most part, certainly not to warrant the outrage in some places here in the forum. I really wish Microsoft would update the Android Groove...

Video recording in Windows 10 Mobile - only mono audio?

Good to know! I haven't put .122 on my Icon yet, but I will check it out this weekend. I had to stop recording video on it, because it sounded like crap.

(Deja Vu) Palm all over again?

I'm with you. Try using an x86 on your phone through Remote Desktop - I do sometimes when I absolutely need to, and it's NOT fun. Legacy x86 apps would be awful on the phone, and new apps could (in most cases) just as well be created as new Universal apps. Instead of dreaming of x86, Windows...

(Deja Vu) Palm all over again?

After switching to Android and using all of MS services on it (except in the Google Play store, natch), I'm thinking that Microsoft should currently concentrate efforts on making an awesome Android + Windows 10 integration, with more development effort in things like their Picturesque (lock...

    Windows 10 for Lumia Icon

Going to put .71 on tonight. The last few builds have been working fine, so I assume this will too. :)

NFC Payments. Not heard anything about this for ages.

I did indeed miss that, since the terminal to me looked just like the terminals at Subway (which have Android Pay). Thanks for explaining the difference. That sounds like a neat idea - does it work as good in real life as it does in the ad? Samsung has been known to fudge the truth quite a bit...

Switched FROM Windows Phone? What are you missing most?

What I miss, in Android: The excellent tile layout. The live tiles The action center with customizable shortcuts Groove music app (the Android one sucks) Cortana's natural voice interaction and BT integration Bing rewards integration The app list with letter search Plus small things here and...

NFC Payments. Not heard anything about this for ages.

I don't know what makes Samsung Pay different from Android Pay, but that's how Android Pay works on my Moto X. As long as the phone is unlocked I don't have to do anything at all besides put it on the terminal. Works great (except today at Office Max, but I think that was their fault - haven't...

Grass isn't greener on the other side

Yeah, but there's no cell data toggle there, only cellular signal.

Grass isn't greener on the other side

I think TouchWiz is not representative of Android as a whole, but since Samsung is the main competitor (at least in the US) to the iPhone hegemony, it's good to hear from users of it. I myself have a Moto X Pure that runs Android 6.0, and my experience has been more positive than yours. It's...

Who is in charge of this junk? Seriously!

The replaceable battery is great for when the device is 2+ years old, when you can put a new one in. These devices with non-replaceable batteries are essentially disposable. Which is how people like it I guess.

Who is in charge of this junk? Seriously!

All of this is true. But when you're the market leader you can afford some problems, when you're nearly extinct you can't.

Who is in charge of this junk? Seriously!

So when you click on an SMS notification from the lock screen, it takes you to the SMS, and not a black screen?

Who is in charge of this junk? Seriously!

I had the exact same issues (BT, black screen from SMS notifications, reboots, etc) as the OP on my Icon, so whatever is causing them, it's not faulty hardware. I assumed it had to do with the OS not being optimized for the Icon, but it's disappointing to hear that the same things are happening...
