Redfly and remote PC, realistically usable?

I would not even count on using remote for document creation or editing - it is just too laggy. You can use the mobile versions of Office on your phone with the RF, but there is a wicked typing delay with some phones. Still I say - netbook - same battery life now, same footprint, almost the...

Redfly and remote PC, realistically usable?

I have used RD and logmein on both the RF and my netbook. On the Redfly - it is only good for the novelty of showing it off - not at all an option for productivity. On the Netbook - very functional - use it all the time to control my home media server from outside the house. I use logmein...

the end of C8 driver/firmware updates

WOW - hadnt looked at this forum in a while. I am feeling pretty glad that I sold my C8 months ago. Hope you guys get this all worked out. From an outside perspective, seems like you are all no better or worse off than we ever were - the drivers were always halfway shaky and Celio would never...

    Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or Android

I have to agree with Graham on this one - I see nothing but prompt service and unrivaled accessibility from the people of Celio on this site. I have voiced my opinion on their solution in my life, and as stated above it just isn't good enough at what I want. So I switched to a netbook and have...

BEST Browser for the Redfly - what are you using?

Well, as the creator of this thread I hate to answer it this way, but here it goes: there is no browser for the Redfly that is really good enough. I hope this thread serves as a resource to those who choose a Redfly, but I gave in. Turns out the best browser is the one on my netbook - it...

    Windows Mobile, BlackBerry or Android

I was a die hard redfly fan, but over time I got tired of tinkering with it. Once the "new" wore off (after almost 9 months) I got myself a refurb acer aspire one for $230 and then sold my C8 on ebay about 2 weeks ago. My redfly served me well for the time I had it, but my netbook running...

    No love from gdgt

Make sure they add the c8 as well - it may not be for sale now, but that is what a lot of us have.

Car Mount - RAM mount now avaiable on website

Car Mount - RAM mount now avaiable on Celiocorp website I received a post via rss that Celio now has the mounts for sale on their site. Here is their info: And here is their pic - It runs $120 for the whole shooting match, but can be bought as components as well. I have had an adjustable...

Redfly and Android.. Can't Come Too Soon

I wouldn't tie Celio's folks decreased posts to anything but being busy. But I agree their input is always nice, and tends to solve issues.

Redfly and Android.. Can't Come Too Soon

Well, this is one formerly dedicated Redfly proponent who just took the plunge: I just bought a factory refurb Acer Aspire. It has the atom processor (1.6ghz) 160gig hd, 3usb, wifi, sd slot, 8.9 screen, vga out, 6cell battery (3.5+ supposed battery life) and all the other customary outs/ins...

Redfly and Android.. Can't Come Too Soon

I also agreee - Windows 7 all the way. 1 - it is free for a year, 2 - it smokes on a netbook (most of which cannot even effectively run Vista), 3 - it is new and still has that new OS smell to it. I loaded it on my full-size laptop and it is without a doubt THE BEST VERSION OF WINDOWS EVER...

    Redfly 2?

@wodin - if you can't work the bugs out of pdanet - consider wmwifirouter - similar functikonality but can create open wifi networks for multiple devices - this should sidestep any compatibility issues you may have with 7. End of hijack

    Redfly 2?

I hate to admit it, but for this and other reasons I find myself jealous of netbooks every now and again. With the release of Windows 7 running like scalded dog on netbooks - I want one. My father uses an Asus EEE and it hauls the mail with windows 7. He uses his phone as the internet...

Redfly and VGA (will it be addressed?)

I too have utilized the remote desktop option at times. The issue is that it takes extra time to get functional and negates one of the biggest advantages of the RF. For now, I just deal with the font size and move on.
