How much is Windows Phone alive, as of today?

"I had to get an Android device" Well, you didn't HAVE to go Android. You could have got an iPhone. I tried Android after giving up on WP 4 years ago. Android was a mess at that time. Maybe it is better now. IAC, I am very happy now with iOS. "My Lumia 820 needs a new...

    Windows Phones in 2020

Topics like this just make me laugh. “How do I get by/make do/hang on with an old Windows phone?” I bailed 4 years ago. Even then, the decision was easy. I can’t imagine still trying to use my Icon or 1520 daily. Both are antiques at this point. “I am wondering if that is due to me...

Surface Pro X...what an awesome machine

Indeed. It’s like the old saying about owning a boat: The 2 best days in the life of a boat owner are the day you bought the boat and the day you sold the boat.

Surface Pro X...what an awesome machine

No loss here. As I said, I bought an iPad Pro. If recompiling is so easy, why isn’t EVERYTHING native ARM by now? What is the point of WOA if everything is emulated? If you think that there is “no difference” between native code and emulated code, then you are drunk on the Microsoft...

    Would you buy again?

This is the very reason I sold mine on eBay and bought another iPad Pro. No native ARM apps. If MS can’t be bothered, then no one else will either. Yes, Edge is native ARM, but little else is. Mail, Groove Music, Windows Media Player, Weather, Office, Teams, etc. are all still - after a...

Surface Pro X...what an awesome machine

I am sorry to say that I gave up on the Pro X. I installed Windows 2004, and all of the included apps are still X86. I have come to the conclusion that Windows On ARM makes as much sense as iOS on Intel would. The alleged benefits are entirely theoretical. The Go 2 has better battery life...

    windows concept - New Start

"I use the start menu about 10 to 20 times a day". Then you are wasting time. Pin those apps to your taskbar. "This is the place where I organize all of my apps and search for stuff." Why are you searching for anything? They can all be right in front of you. On the taskbar. I find...

    windows concept - New Start

I will never understand why some people are so obsessed with the start menu. Do you spend your whole day looking at the start menu? I don't spend more than a few seconds per day in it. Days can go by without me needing to even open it. When I open the start menu, I just need to launch a...

Win10 laptop making router wifi unrecognisable

It sounds like you solved your problem. Still, you might want to get a new router. If you are the only person using it, you should be OK. I replaced my old TP-LINK router because there were several people using here using it. It would randomly reboot due to being overloaded. Any modern...

Win10 laptop making router wifi unrecognisable

I would upgrade the router. The TL-WR841N is very old, and currently sells for $20. It is basically junk at this point. I had a TP-LINK router a few years ago. I switched to a NetGear. All of my WiFi problems disappeared.

I'm standing my ground, and sticking with Windows Mobile.

I've decided to stand my ground and stick with a 1960s rotary phone. Don't need no fancy schmancy push button toy.

Tried upgrading the ProX SSD @ Microsoft Store

I upgraded my 128GB X to 256GB. It was easy.

Surface Pro X and wired headphones

What kind of "support" do headphones need? You connect, they work. Its really very simple. Speaking of non-answers, I already asked what USB-C adapter you bought. Which you did not answer.

Surface Pro X and wired headphones

Also, you should consider just joining the 21st century and going Bluetooth. I have loads of Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Most have a wired option too, so you can plug in an audio cable and pretend it is 1990.

Need help to choose suitable Bluetooth Headphones for my Windows 10 laptop

Any recent Bluetooth headphones will work fine. Particularly if they use Bluetooth 5. The codecs are way better. Personally, I have several headphones, both wired and Bluetooth. My current favorite is the Aiwa ARC-1. It does not have noice cancellation, but that is way overrated IMO...
