Not sure why the WiFi check box has disappeared from your device. I can see it on my Ativ S as seen in screen capture below. Another possible reason is the Battery Saver mode. If you have Battery Saver enabled, the WiFi will be turned off when the battery level is below certain percentage...

Boris, the issue is probably with the particular application, i.e. "AccuWeather - Weather for Life", and not with all weather applications. Vieather is running fine on my set while "AccuWeather - Weather for Life" is not.
