Thanks for the reply. I imagine that's what I'll have to do, go in to a store and try it out myself, and also talk to my university and see if taking finals on a phone-computer isn't against their policy. I just don't want to wait that long, I've been waiting long enough as is!

Just wanted to let everyone on this forum know, that my wife's Lumia 830 (RM-985) was able to connect to my Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter. Previously, I believe it was said that only the 1520 and 930/Icon could do that, but that's not the case.

Did you notice the same issue with your front-facing camera? It only happens with me to the rear camera, and I just had my display replaced, so that leads me to believe that the camera is faulty, and not the display.

UPDATE: Reset my phone and upgraded back to Denim through the Software Recovery Tool. Same problem. I will be ordering a replacement part, either on Amazon or parts4repair, and hopefully that will solve the problem.

Wait, if you replace the back, you lose NFC? I was planning on replacing my black back to a red one with a part I found on parts4repair.com, but I don't wanna lose NFC.
