I have absolutely no problem with the keyboard. I'm typing this on my 10166 icon. I'm quite surprised that you'd leave an OS because of it. Just make an effort to change your technique and you'll be totally fine. I wouldn't give up so easily. 😉
1. Revert back to 8.1 with a fresh start. (no backup)
2. Do a hard reset to a fresh start. (no backup)
3. Install Windows Insider and install Windows 10. Again do a fresh start. (no backup)
4. Once on Windows 10, do another hard reset with a fresh start. (no backup)
That should do it.
1. Those apps on my Icon do not crash a lot. Practically never, can't remember the last time they did.
2. VV for me didn't install right either, but who needs it?
3. People hub looks great to me and I don't have any problems with it. It still is a hub, don't know what you're talking about.
Just FYI,

Fast ring gets every new build even if it's buggy. Slow ring gets builds less frequently, but when they get them they are more stable.
I love Windows Phone, but guys the 830 has absolutely no chance. WP OS right now just isn't up to par with iOS (bugs, software limitations, app discrepancies, app inconsistency, office, etc. etc.) . Sorry, but we'll have to wait for Windows 10.
