    Last Update...now slow and laggy

.... Who the F thought that was a good idea?! If I don't want to close it, I'll just multitask it. Geez!

    Last Update...now slow and laggy

I've been having the same issues. Ever since a couple updates after 8.1. I really think it has to do with the way windows multitasks now. It used to be when I swiped down the application was completely closed. Now, even after closing, it seems it's still active as I can see it in the task...

Scared of the direction of WP.

It never ceases to amaze me that some people automatically think progress is progressive. I'm all for progress, as long as it doesn't hinder usability or vision. The reason most people here are worried is because WP8 has probably created more problems than it has solved and I think they are...

    Couldn't agree more, Rockstarzzz.

Is WP7 still a viable option for some users over WP8?

Honestly, it depends on what you want to do with the phone. Do you need a phone that works really well, or do you need a phone that can do everything? Do you need a phone that is fast, reliable, and smooth, does basic chat/SMS/facebook and integrates really well, and Does OKAY with point and...

Scared of the direction of WP.

Making a bad product is what drives a business to the ground. All I'm saying is that I want WP8 to work as well as WP7 did, and that's just not the case right now, it's gotten worse with all the 'improvements' they've added. I'm all for making developments, but I don't want the overall...

Scared of the direction of WP.

I think therein lies the issue with this push for a notification center. The problem I had with the notification center wasn't because it wasn't 'pure' or whatever, but because of what you're saying here, this falling out of hubs. If hubs were better integrated like Microsoft had originally...

Scared of the direction of WP.

So why have tiles at all? Make the start screen a giant flow of notifications (a la Sense 5), then have a list of apps to the right of that. BAM. Done.

Scared of the direction of WP.

I'm really happy to see people agreeing with me. I was so sure I'd be shot down. I think rockstarrzzz sums it up well with WP becoming a sleeker Android. That's not what I wanted when I first got into WP7. I liked the aggregation, the simplification, I liked the glance and go nature of...

Any Win Phone 8 users like WP7.x better?

Get an ASHA! xD Honestly, for the price and the usability, just get an older Nokia or HTC running windows 7.x. Works for what it seems you need it for, and I guarantee you it will serve you well for years to come. Just make sure it has a removable battery.

Any Win Phone 8 users like WP7.x better?

taymur hit the nail on the head. I miss the speed, stability, and reliability of WP7 a LOT. Personally, if I were you, I'd stick with WP7. I too would stick with WP7 if I didn't require some applications that are only on WP8. :( Even if it's not supported, who cares? It does what you need it...

Scared of the direction of WP.

@Chregu Ah, you're talking about the lock screen .. Yeah, that's whole other issue entirely. And you can only really choose one to see fully at a time.. I don't think they want to clutter the lock screen too much seeing that it's the only real visual customization you can have. I'm okay with...

Scared of the direction of WP.

I started writing this in reply to the newer post about Microsoft and Nokia's internal testing of 8.1 but it got a little long winded. Everyone was so excited about a notification center and I just had to say: Is anyone else loathing the idea of notifications? Or the path WP is taking in...

HTC making WP8 version of HTC One?

Still nothing. Any chance to hear about it before the Holiday season? (When HTC can get a lot of sales).

    HTC Next Windows Phone Announcement?

I'm not sure how it would work, update and hardware. I wonder if the OS wouldn't be as smooth on hardware not built specifically for the OS. I would rather just see the HTC logo swapped out with a windows logo capacitive button running WP8. :D
