I'd love to see Virgin get some WP when Apollo comes out; they have the best approach to data that i've seen from any of the major carriers in Canada so far.

Yeah, I went to pick up a Focus a week ago and all the stores told me that it was discontinued. Thankfully they still had some units online so I should be getting one in the mail soon, but if you wanted anything other than Nokia, you're out of luck.

Nothing was really announced for Canada so far at MWC, so I think I may take the plunge for the Focus. As much as the new Nokia's look fantastic, I just can't justify spending what will most likely be high-end phone price on something that will become relatively obsolete once Apollo comes. So...

Actually, this has been reported by many people. Apparently it has something to do with the headphone jack, though I can't remember if it had been deduced that it's a software or hardware issue.

Any word yet on pricing? I'd definitely consider this as a new phone, but i'd need to see what kind of plans are on offer.

This is whats giving me pause, but at the same time, knowing Rogers, i'd have to sign a 3-year contract to get a decent price on that thing, which would then be outclassed by the Apollo phones. So, i'm thinking of getting this for one year as a stopgap phone.

Do you think that this: Sandisk 16GB MicroSDHC Class 2 Memory Card With Adapter : MicroSD Memory - Future Shop would work? Also, what do you need to do to install it? I was under the impression that you just plugged in the card, and if it was compatible, it would work.

Is there any way to determine whether or not a microsd card is compatible with the focus?

Just to ask, have the microsd card issues that apparently plagued the device on release been fixed? or do most microsd cards still not work in the device?

Good to know. I'm currently using an iPod touch with $30 headphones, so Im obviously not much of a stickler for high end audio quality. Still debating between this and the Samsung focus, but if the sound quality is decent then I may have to go with this one.

I've been seeing reports of the 800 having horrible sound quality, but for those of you who have it, is it true? I imagine that it's not audiophile quality or anything, but for it to be quite as bad as some have said would be a major oversight on Nokias part.

Good to know. I'm a bit nervous about signing a two year contract for this thing, seeing as how it's already a year old, but I think i'll delve in anyway. I'm not really looking for anything too high tech: just talk, text, taking a few pictures, and listening to music.

I did look at the lumia's, but their internal memory (and the 800's apparent sound quality issues) make them unsuitable for being music players, which is a major issue for me. The microsd card slot and the apparently decent audio in the focus are a definite plus.
