I get around 86k on my 950 XL (.218). There will always be some variability between phones, but every component in our phones is tested to ensure datasheet specs are met after assembly by the vendor. I would think most differences in benchmark scores has more to do with the software environment.

That's odd. My 950 XL I bought from B&H looks like it was originally sold in Mexico. Once I set the phone to the right region and language during initial setup, I've had no issues with it.

I have found that when I put the phone in airplane mode, and then turn on wifi, it cannot see 5 GHz networks. If I turn on wifi with airplane mode off, then I can see 5 GHz networks. I have seen this behavior sometimes on my Note 5 as well.
