How to remove unwanted photos from the live tile (People app.)?

Re: How to remove unwanted photos from the live tile. (People app.) My problem is that I have lots of work people in the contacts list, and I don't want to see their pictures on the home screen at all. Ideally, you could replace the "contacts" live tile with a static one of your own choice...

Sell me W10M! What does it do better than WP8.1?

I did a hard reset. However, I don't think it was necessary, but I didn't have anything installed on it yet. You could always try without the reset.

Sell me W10M! What does it do better than WP8.1?

The ONLY reason for me to use W10M on my 640 is the universal support for voice-to-text in every app. Just couldn't live with having to type in whatsapp in WP8.1.

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

Yes, I chose to reinstall applications from scratch, but didn't wipe the SD card. I am currently running well with a reformatted 16 GB SD card - no excessive battery drain. I will eventually try to reformat the offending 64 GB card as well, and see if that fixes the problem.

W10M - New features listed (compared to WP8.1)

Re: What do we have in windows 10 mobile that we didn't have in 8.1 That was the only reason for me to upgrade to WM10, the ability to voice dictate in Whatsapp and the calendar (and any other app that uses the keyboard). Plus, voice recognition is really great. Coming from Android, I feel...

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

As I noted above, I figured out the battery drain problems with my 640: It was the 64 GB micro SD card. I put a spare 16 GB micro SD card in, freshly formatted by WM10. The phone has lost only 2% battery overnight, so it seems I am back to WP 8.1 levels of battery drain. The strange thing is...

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

Thanks for the reply. However, I have solved my battery drain problem. I took out the SD card this morning, and the phone is still at 83% after 8 hours of slight use and mostly standby -- no more excessive drain in standby. That's how it was using WP 8.1. How could the SD card cause battery...

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

I think I may have found the culprit of my Lumia 640 battery drain: The 64 GB SanDisk Ultra SD card. I took out the SD card, and now I have only lost 2% battery in 2 hours, much more like what it was in WP 8.1. So, try a new SD card, or reformat this one in the phone? Why would the SD card...

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

I did a hard reset on mine with fresh installation of very few apps (Whatsapp, wallpaper and ringtone apps), with no improvement of battery life. I also disabled background use of most apps, however, the phone still drains battery like crazy in standby (see my above posts). I don't understand...

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

Thanks, here it is: This includes charging for the last 8 hours. As I said, battery use states that screen use was almost 60% of use, when the screen was barely on. Most of the drop in battery use occurred during standby, while only checking a couple of texts and battery status every few hours.

Yes, but how can the screen use 60% of battery when it is off most of the day?

has anyone else noticed improved battery life in build 10586.63???

The strange thing for my Lumia 640 is that it battery stats state that the screen used 60% of battery, However, the screen was off all day, except for checking a couple of texts. Glance screen is set to 30 sec. timeout. Does the screen consume power even in standby?

Unfortunately, my Lumia 640 has very poor battery life in Windows 10. It drains the battery within 10 hours, even when on standby and barely any use. In contrast, it could run for 3 days with the same usage pattern in Windows 8.1. I'm not sure what the difference is. Or if there is any fix.
