Pretty good video review (22 minutes long)

I do like the phone, yes. It has the two "C's": camera (awesome) and curve (glass and chin) :) But seriously, on all fronts it's an excellent device with just as much potential flagship mojo as the Lumia. But much less marketing behind it. Thanks to the Lumia 900 launch, I know there's lots of...

Pretty good video review (22 minutes long)

Glad you liked our video review. We'll be doing a Lumia 900 vs. Titan II smackdown too, for those who are having trouble deciding between the two. It's not an easy decision!

ATT Reps: Cellular Data issue for current lumia owners

The SIM card tray was inserted properly and wasn't moved or changed when data suddenly stopped working. I don't think that's the issue.

ATT Reps: Cellular Data issue for current lumia owners

Since I'd already tried rebooting and removing and reinserting the SIM, I can't believe that fixes the problem. But I took the Nokia SIM out and put it in my Skyrocket (I have a micro SIM to SIM card adapter) and the SIM worked fine in the Skyrocket. I then put the SIM back in the Nokia and the...

ATT Reps: Cellular Data issue for current lumia owners

I'm not an AT&T employee, but my review unit just started doing the same thing. Suddenly no cellular data. My other AT&T LTE phones work fine, so it's not a network issue. Calling works and WiFi works but no more cellular data. Tried pulling the SIM card, rebooting and toggling flight mode.

The great hardware debate -- is better actually better?

I've owned the HTC HD7S since it came out in June 2011. 1GHz now running Mango. When it came out running WP7, it seemed so fast, but with Mango, not as amazingly fast. It's still quite usable though. The Lumia 900 is noticeably faster (I have review unit). In fact, I just sold the HD7S today and...

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

The iPhone 4S has HSPA+ 14.4 just like the Titan. AT&T calls that 4G, though Apple does not.

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

I didn't say I see a large variation between 2 different 4G phones on AT&T, I said that I often see a lot of variation using the same phone and testing 50x over a period of 10 to 30 minutes on AT&T HSPA+. I do that a few times for each phone that comes in for review. If I see a consistent...

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

In my experience with many phones, AT&T's speeds can vary greatly from 1 minute to the next. Tower load, the weather and QoS (quality of service) software/hardware at the tower/uplink can make a huge difference. AT&T is more variable than other carriers in my tests. Server locations make a...

Skype for Windows Phone 7 still scheduled to be released this year

I use Skype all the time on my Android phones and the iPhone, it would be supremely foolish if I had to pay the carrier to use it on my Windows Phone. MS would certainly be putting a nail in the platform's coffin if they agreed to that.

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

No, it was done with my personal phone purchased at the store. I used my own SIM card with has 4G HSPA+ enabled on my account. Before I had that feature turned on (there was no charge and I was able to keep my grandfathered unlimited data), I never got very good speeds with HSPA+ phones. Just...

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

Reflexx, we have a review unit (I'm Editor in Chief at MobileTechReview). But I did manage to pick up a phone for myself at an AT&T corporate store in Allen :)

AT&T limiting network speed on their Titan?

My Titan is averaging 4.28Mbps down and 1.05Mbps up today (Bandwith Test app). My iPhone 4S is averaging 4.16Mbps down and 1.1Mbps today (speedtest app). Dallas metroplex.
