Actually, the worse thing for me is that both the predictive text and word flow all seem to prioritize the names of people in my contact list over actual words. Sometimes my word flow messages just end up being a bunch of names strung together.
Only 1 out of the 6 "techs" I talked to said that WP isn't supported anymore. The rest did not.. which leads me to think that 1 tech had no clue what he/she was talking about
Yeah, my old Lumia 1020 that I logged into a long time ago is fine.
The latest guy from Uber Support (the 5th or 6th now, I think?) finally said that the team is aware of the issue and is working to fix it. Whether that's actually true or he just said whatever he could to get me to stop...
Did you just install it recently (i.e. in December)? Judging from the App Store comments, it seems like this is a recent issue and people who have had it installed and logged-in from earlier are fine..
And now the 3rd person at Uber support told me to update my iPhone to the latest iOS. And then the 4th person told me that Uber isn't on Windows Phone/Mobile.. Does anyone know a phone number I can contact them at so I don't get 4 different people with wildly different and useless support...
Wow.. Uber's technical support is being super-dense about this. The first guy asked me to send him a screenshot of the error so that he can unlock the Uber app for my phone (which makes 0 sense). The second guy told me that I can't use Uber on anything except Android, iPhones, or Windows Phones..
Weird.. I just installed Uber onto my Surface Pro 4 and encountered the same error. Having the same error on my Lumia 950 that I got yesterday. My Lumia 1020 that already has Uber installed is working ok though..
Hmmm, you're right. My battery consumption today with data on and my usual amount of phone usage had been back to pre-8.1 levels. That's so weird!
Going to try an overnight with the data on in a few days.
Keeping the phone unplugged at night allows you to test if the phone is actually consuming an abnormal amount of battery power while not being used or whether it`s just because you`ve been fiddling with your phone more. I`ve also found on my Rogers L1020 that my battery drain is greatly reduced...
I find that my worst battery drain is when I'm in a basement where I don't get consistent reception. My phone heats up like crazy and the battery consumption goes to 30-40% per hour. Wonder if there's some messed up bit of coding in 8.1 for trying to find a cellular signal..
Hah! Obviously, when I did that earlier today, it didn't do anything. But after I did it again after reading your post just to be sure, the lockscreen calendar's working fine now. Go figure! Thanks!
