Should I replace Cortana with Google Assist

What make it better from your perspective, just curious? I still use Microsoft services (cortana, launcher, edge, onedrive, OneNote, word, excel, PowerPoint, office lens, Microsoft news/sports, outlook) on Android and am more than happy with those.

    Does anyone use notifications?

What do you mean windows has a legacy of being bombarded with notifications. They have worked the same way as any other phone notification system, you have to disable the ones you don't want otherwise you get them by default. It was no different on windows.

    Does anyone use notifications?

I do but only for the few apps I actually want notifications for like mail, calendar, msn breaking news, chat apps like groupme or fb messenger. It's the same with my phone too though so I use it the same way as I would on my phone.

    Progressive Web App (PWA) list

I thought that was obvious that in the long term they may have some access to local resources. I mean an app that only works online isn't as useful. At the same time, I don't think it'll necessarily be the same as a locally installed app. Obviously the feature isn't there yet so we don't know...

Why does Edge suck so bad

I'm mainly browser agnostic, but I go between Chrome and Edge. The only issue I have with Edge is that it doesn't have Xmarks, otherwise I'd probably use it 100% of the time. At work we are in process of upgrading to windows 10 so am using Chrome at work still.

For a Microsoft eco-system purist, which is better: iPhone or Android?

I prefer Android, but I recommend something more the Pixel or even Nokia where you'll be guaranteed timely updates. For one, I don't like iOS UI just generally speaking. But a deal breaker for me is not being able to set default apps in iOS which to me almost makes it pointless to use other...

    Massive let down so far.

I guess I'm one of the more fortunate ones, but I have the microsoft surface pro 2017 and haven't had any issues. Prior to that I had the surface book which was also great. Though my use case is probably different from yours, I mainly write notes though I haven't noticed any issues with drawing...

    The future of Continuum.

I always thought Cshell is an evolution of continuum in some ways? The way I think about it is continuum is going from small screen to larger and Cshell as being able to adjust in any screen size direction essentially.

    LinkedIn, do you use it?

I use it the same amount. It wouldn't have mattered if Microsoft or some other company acquired it. I keep it regularly updated. It's useful for job searching and networking.

Microsoft owes us that have stuck with them since Windows Phone 7 and even beyond!!!

No one or company owes anyone anything. There's always going to be competing tech and software, which no one knows who will become more dominant or will die out. I think in cases like say the note 7 where harm could've been caused or something was majorly defective then maybe some kind of...

Should I ditch my desktop ?

I simply still have a desktop (well currently an all in one) because at home I prefer working on a larger screen and I occasionally do high end gaming, so I need a decent graphics card. I also have the surface pro 2017 because I need to be mobile and I take notes. IF I wasn't a gamer I would...

    New Surface pen worth it?

I thought there was going to be some kind of firmware update for the SP4 that would let users take advantage of the new pen features, but I can't remember if that includes the lower latency. I used to have the surface book and recently upgraded to the surface pro 2017. I only use it for notes...

    Windows 10 vs MacOS

Aside from what applications she prefers to use, I would say whichever system she is the most familiar or comfortable using. I know you wrote she can get around most systems, but a lot of the OS battles and arguments I see also come down to what someone is used to using and most people don't...

Why do people think that Windows 10 on ARM can save Surface Phone?

Regarding your last paragraph, I think the issue is that they technically could get it to work completely on an 820 chipset but the experience may suck and it probably isn't economically worth doing that with a small user base. Though, I do agree with you about their communication to consumers.

I like the SMS fuction in Skype preview.

I've been experiencing some syncing issues lately with my surface book. For some reason the texts I send out from my L950xl are not syncing. So I'll receive messages fine and they come at the same time on my surface book and L950xl, but if I'm out and am sending texts then later come back home...
