Help - My Lumia 925 went black!

I would try and reflash using the Device Recovery Tool and see if somehow the firmware has got corrupted and a re-flash will revive. (It will wipe all data.) https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12379/windows-10-mobile-device-recovery-tool-faq If that doesn't help, perhaps the battery is...

    McAfee any good?

Second this. Edge with an Ad blocker Extension (like ublock origin) with Windows Defender is very good protection these days. We have McAfee on some server installs and it eats memory. No idea why but it does. To the point of impacting other applications.

    No Go

I think business will like these. Portable and powerful enough for retail and the like. Some consumers will like them. But I doubt these will stop people buying an iPad. While a $1000 Surface Pro can take having $100 accessories, I feel that at the $399 price point, that's too much and will...

    Wrong front page title

This thread https://www.windowscentral.com/best-windows-10-laptop-kids was updated with Surface Go. But in the news feed on the front page the title there shows a laptop no longer in the article,

Jason Ward uses Windows phone (for now) and asks why do you?

Not generally - I stopped using it when phone calls and texts became unreliable. Although that was partly AT&T changing service around here and making me have poor coverage - I needed Wi-Fi calling and my 950XL would not do that. However for some kids events where I want a video, I take my...

Can Surface Go catch up to the entry level iPad?

Thoughts on the Surface Go price?

For comparison, you can get something like this today: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1286010-REG/asus_t101ha_c4_gr_transformer_x5_z8350_4gb_64ssd_windows_10_10_1_t.html/BI/20079/KBID/13844/SID/UUwpUvbUpU3753289 Mixed reviews, but when you factor in the keyboard you're looking at $499...

Thoughts on the Surface Go price?

I would like to see a $499 bundle including keyboard and pen. That would make it attractive. $399 for the tablet only is ok assuming the battery lasts say 8 hours of Internet and Netflix. If it's only say 5 hours then it's missed the mark in more major ways than the price.

[POLL] When do you think USB-C will fully replace USB-A?

It's not good having proprietary standards like Lightning. Microsoft or perhaps the USB group did show off a smaller Type-C connector recently for mobile devices. But even the existing Type-C connector is totally usable in phones today and benefits from being a more universal standard. I...

    Onedrive security feature for Business

I've never seen such an option. In theory you could script something server side but as OneDrive files are offline cachable on client PCs, you wouldn't be able to do that there. I don't believe any cloud provider does such a thing though.

[POLL] When do you think USB-C will fully replace USB-A?

The benefits of C over A means that it will become the standard eventually: - High Power - Smaller connector - Massive bandwidth when combined with TB3 (e.g. multiple video streams, external GPUs) - Backward compatible with Type-A - All-in-one connectivity (dock to charge, power, expand) But...

    Microsoft Photos

Would be nice to get some good photo apps. However it would also be nice for them to add a 'clean up' function to OneDrive, so those photos and videos already uploaded could be cleaned out of the phone to free space (note: they should verify upload before delete).
