I've not had the battery drain issue on my Icon with either 8.1 or 8.1 Update. Then again I never had the issue on my 521 either...and that phone already had poor battery life, but 8.1 never hurt it. Not saying I don't believe you all! I know it's been an issue for many! Not sure why I've not...

Yep, it's exactly like Skype, Vonage, etc. Well, except that it doesn't cost any extra on top of what you already have to pay (to allow people to call you from regular phones). It also doesn't use up your data plan. But yeah, other than those very tiny details, it's identical.

Sorry if my post was unclear. That's what I meant. I had purchased it for $50, but they are refunding the $50 since the phone is now offered for free (my Verizon balance now shows -$50.00)

I just purchased an Icon 10 days ago for $50 and 2 year contract. Just used Verizon Live Chat and they were able to refund me the $50. No hassle or anything.
